A Small Coal Mining Town Established in 1908
The City of Newcastle is settled at the heart of Young County in north central Texas and is located four-six miles from Fort Belknap. It was founded and named after the English coal town Newcastle upon Tyne, following the start of coal mining in the country.
Rich in History, Culture, and Discipline
We value the saying, “In God We Trust.” That’s why as time progressed, the old coal-mining town became an established city. Now, residents live in a safe and secure community through our council’s policies, ordinances, and regulations.
Town Features and Activities
We take great pride in the exemplary schools around our town. Our community also holds a fun and exciting city homecoming event for our residents every three years.
